Pirates of Leviathan (or POL) is an all-new Dimension 20 sidequest coming to DROPOUT.tv! It takes place in the city of Leviathan, a city floating in the middle of the Celestine Sea as a haven for pirates, first introduced in Fantasy High: Sophomore Year. Unlike most Dimension 20 seasons, this one was shot entirely remotely due to COVID-19 and features theater-of-the-mind battles, although there will be additional elements like music and illustrations to liven things up (although we do miss Rick Perry’s minis desperately). It premieres September 16th, 2020 and will consist of 6 episodes.
The core cast of Dimension 20 will not be part of this season - instead, we brought in a cast of D&D all-stars to bring Leviathan to life. The cast includes:
- Carlos Luna (he/him) as Cheese, a Forest Gnome Wizard (Necromancy - Level 5)
- Krystina Arielle (she/her) as Barbarella Sasparilla Gainglynn (aka “Bob”), an Aasimar Bard (Lore - Level 3) and Cleric (City - Level 2)
- Aabria Iyengar (she/her) as Myrtle “The Bitch,” a Merfolk Cleric (Tempest - Level 5)
- B. Dave Walters (he/him) as Marcid the Typhoon, a Bugbear Ranger (Gloomstalker - Level 5)
- Marisha Ray (she/her) as Sunny Biscotto, a Aaracockra Paladin (Devotion - Level 5)
- Matthew Mercer (he/him) as Jack Brakkow, a Ratfolk Barbarian (Ancestral Guardian - Level 5)
Leviathan takes place after the events of Fantasy High: Sophomore Year, but you will not have needed to have watched Sophomore Year to understand and enjoy Pirates of Leviathan (although there are many nods to those events that fans will appreciate). The only confirmed previously-known Leviathan NPC to appear is Garthy O’Brien (who WILL be receiving official art).
The current plan is that new episodes will premiere live on the Dimension 20 YouTube channel, and be available on-demand anytime you want to DROPOUT.tv subscribers (so sign up for DROPOUT now!).
